Own a CCHH HomeCCHH acknowledges that providing homeownership for individuals in precarious housing situations works to create self-esteem in both families and their new neighborhoods. It is one of the most basic ways to break successive generations of poverty. Our homes are decent, simple and affordable. Decent housing means
housing reflecting the local climate and culture, built with quality
available building materials. Simple housing means housing that
meets the family's needs. As such, homes are generally 1,500 square feet of living space. This aids the partnering
family in their future expenses in the home, as heating and cooling
costs are more controllable with a well-insulated house, particularly
as these costs escalate upwards. CCHH homes are primarily built
with volunteer help, significantly reducing the overall cost of
a house. The house's affordability is thru our method of not charging
interest on the mortgage. House payments fund future homes for
other partner families, a most exciting means of growth. Service Area CCHH offers the opportunity of homeownership to qualified candidates within the 910 square miles of Chenango County, New York State.
