DONATIONS:

How you can give

All of the following are ways for you to give to CCHH. Taking time to consider 'what' to give, as well as the 'how' and 'when', can make your valuable gifts more meaningful, and will assist you in meeting your personal planning goals too.

Time
Your valuable time is one of our most important assets. To volunteer, click here to go get a printable form (PDF, requires free reader from Adobe), fill it out, and send it on in to us per form directions.

Money
We love receiving your funds donations because that means we can build more houses, obtain more land, etc. Please consider providing donations regularly, on a monthly basis for instance, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. You may like establishing a contract with yourself that you'll provide a given amount on a given basis, and then send us a copy. Cash and checks are always welcome. In any case, we deeply appreciate that you make provision for us.

Non-cash Gifting

Examples of choices others have chosen in making provision for CCHH are:

  • Securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds)
  • Real Estate
  • Retirement Plans
  • Life Insurance policies.

One of these choices may be an appealing alternative for you. It may also permit you to enjoy what may be greater tax savings than deductions provided through gifts of money. We can also provide you with forms to transfer securities, examples for choosing what works best for you…that is, cash giving vs. stocks and possible tax savings. Gifting appreciated property generally allows you greater tax savings than cash, due to bypassing capital gains tax. Gifting depreciated property generally works better for you in saving taxes by selling it first and then giving cash. You may enjoy tax deductions greater than the asset value of the property. You can provide for us in your wills, gift annuities, and trusts ((living or charitable). We recommend your working closely with your financial advisor, and then contacting us.

For more information on this, contact our Treasurer Jim Weibel, at (607) 895-6630.

Events
CCHH is chosen by faith-based groups to benefit from dinners they have held, or quilter's who offer their talents and skills in beautiful creations for auctions. One of our main annual fund-raisers is the Valentine's Day Red Carnation Fund Drive, which we hold.

Corporate Participation
CCHH welcomes the donations we've begun receiving from corporations and employers in Chenango County and adjacent counties. This is helping us move ahead faster than we had before, and is a continued direction for us. Corporations and employers provide funds, and as well have community service departments that provide capable and competent volunteers for builds. We look forward to continued growth with them all.
